Describe your role to someone who is not familiar with the construction industry or Colas USA.
When describing my role I say I make the schedule for the trucks and tell them what jobs they need to go to on a specific day. I also manage anything to do with the dump trucks and sub haulers day to day.
What has been your favorite project so far?
I enjoy any and all projects that allow me to get out and interact with the crews and drivers, so I can’t pick just one! All of the work is exciting.
What drew you to working within the construction industry?
I wanted a job that I could be home every day and still make a decent living. Getting to see all the heavy equipment and the paving operations is a perk of the job.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
I really enjoy the people I work with, and they make it easy to get out bed in the mornings and come to work. There are bad days and good days, but the good days always outweigh the bad days. I strive to always have a positive mindset every day.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I enjoy hunting and fishing on my free time. I have recently started playing golf, and although I’m not great at it I enjoy learning and getting better at it.
