Michele Jensen is an Accounts Receivable Specialist for the East Region of Simon, the Colas USA subsidiary that operates throughout South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado. Michele has been a part of the Colas USA Family since 2022.

Describe your role to someone who is not familiar with the construction industry or Colas USA.
I work in the regional office of the East Region of Simon and manage all the billing and invoicing for our materials operations.
What has been your favorite project so far?
My favorite part of working for Simon is learning about the road construction and aggregate business. I didn’t have any knowledge of the industry when I was offered the opportunity, and I find it is fascinating to see how it all comes together.
What drew you to working within the construction industry?
I love to see places evolve! I love progress and I feel there are few better industries to be a part of that, than the construction industry.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
For me, motivation comes from feeling like I am accomplishing something. I really enjoy thinking outside the box to see if there is a better way to do something or look at something.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I was born the same day as my Great Grandmother and my aunt on my mother’s side.
