Ports

Colas USA companies understand that construction services should not interfere with ports’ ongoing operations. Our experience working in and around busy ports allows us to maximize our production while not hampering the ports' activities. Our vast construction materials facilities and large equipment fleet gives us full control over scheduling, which allows us to work at times which will have minimal disturbance on normal operations. Our combination of experience, hard-work, and innovative problem solving enables us to overcome tight deadlines, poor weather conditions, job sites near or within working areas, and any other problems that may arise. Our teams have what it takes to get the job done right the first time, on-time and on-budget.

Our teams have proven themselves to be efficient and reliable at a variety of port projects, from regular maintenance to new wharf construction and major port expansion. Colas USA companies have performed either major rehabilitations or new construction in some of the nation’s largest ports: the Port of Los Angeles, the Port of Long Beach, the Port of Savannah, the Jacksonville Port, Norfolk International Terminal, Portsmouth International Terminal, Maersk APM (Portsmouth), Newport News International Terminal, the Port of Anchorage and the Port of Mobile Container Terminal.

In addition to years of experience, we have a deep knowledge of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) which allows us to keep to strict timelines that would otherwise be implausible. RCC is a heavy duty pavement placed with asphalt paving equipment. RCC has the strength and durability of concrete, but the speed and economy of asphalt. It is best used on large industrial sites including ports, military installations, and other areas required to withstand heavy loads.
