Building Roads to the Future West of the Mississippi

Simon was founded 61 years ago in 1954 by James E. Simon. He was a man who liked to play with big toys – the messier the job, the better. The company’s early projects started with minor building, concrete and pipe, and eventually, asphalt work.

Simon’s project scope and size grew, as well as the company. During the ensuing decades, Simon added three more locations, opened an asphalt plant in North Platte NE, and purchased Read Ready Mix in Cheyenne WY, in order to create concrete mixtures off-site and deliver in bulk to construction zones. Later, Simon established a bridge division to provide both bridge building and maintenance.

Simon has completed projects in most states west of the Mississippi River. Today, Simon, a Colas company, still operates with the integrity, quality and reliability it was founded on 61 years ago – a distinction the company is proud to have fostered, and one that it is determined to continue.
